The Library of Teatralny Koufar, Katsiaryna Saladukha, Minsk University (Bielorussia)

Dear friends,
 
We invite you to take an active participation in our project "The Library of Teatralny Koufar” and make it really international. It would be really interesting if you sent us a contemporary play of your country to be published in original language (digital) and Belarusian translation (printed).
 
This project would follow 2 main goals :

to present new foreign drama
and draw attention to our national language, i.e. Belarusian.

The thing is that today here in Belarus we experience a certain lack of the literature in Belarusian (either as the original language or as the language of translation).
And, of course, it is quite a problem to reach new literature in general for at least that reason that Internet as the most available information medium, with it all, doesn’t give immediate access to quality literature or, after all, to full texts, offering instead high price books for order from foreign e-shops. 
And we believe this problem with access is topical not only for us but in a varying degree for many countries. 
So, the festival foreign participants would get a wonderful overview of contemporary drama too! Thus, we would kill even three birds with one stone !
 
What do you think of this ? Any ideas, suggestions, plays....
 
Looking forward to you soonest response, since there are not so much time left for us to fulfill what is intended.

Hello,
It is a great idea. But who is translating the text into Belarusian ? In Germany, I have to ask the editors if I could send you the German texts, because every author has protected his work. That is law in Germany.

Do you know the work of ITI. In the last week, there was an international translator workshop in my neighbour city. I meet people from outside like German contemporary playwrights and a lot of them are translated into English and Spain.

The plays will be translated by young Belarusian translators !
Of course, you need to ask authors or editors about the rights to publish texts, but you should keep in mind that this project is non-commercial, i.e. we won’t derive any benefit from it, since we won’t sell the books. If we did so, Belarusian IP committee would pay royalties to the authors anyway.
 
The links are quite useful actually. Thanks a lot. But we prefer to have original text for translation. So, I am waiting for your suggestions !

WHO KNOWS THE RIGHTHOLDER OF ARTHUR ADAMOV ? Katia Katsiaryna

Also we would be very grateful if you let us know any information concerning a rightholder of Arthur Adamov. It is actually our dream to publish his works here, since last time it was done only in 1964 in Moscow ! So, that would make us really happy if we translate and publish him !!! Please help if you can !!! I did my best, but failed to find rightholder (by some information that could be his niece who lives in France).
